Preparing You for Hands-On Research

Our academic programs are designed to give you high-quality, hands-on experience that prepare you for academics research and industry positions worldwide. You will study crops and diseases that are critical in Kansas and worldwide along with important model systems; learn how plants and microbes function, how they interact, and how the environment affects that interaction; modify plants to fight diseases and improve yield; and transfer genes from wild plants to crop plants to increase genetic diversity and stress tolerance.
