Biography

I am K-State's applied wheat pathologist. I was born and raised in KS, did my undergraduate studies at Pittsburg State University, and did my Ph.D. at Kansas State University. I previously held a faculty position at Montana State University, before returning to my home department here in Plant Pathology.

Education

  • PhD, Plant Pathology, Kansas State University, 2015.
  • Graduate Certification in Applied Statistics, Kansas State University, 2014.
  • BS, Chemistry, Pittsburg State University, 2009.
  • BS, Biology, Pittsburg State University, 2009.

Research

My research focuses on wheat pathogens that cause economic damage to wheat producers, with a focus on scab, tan spot, and Wheat streak mosaic. The Applied Wheat Pathology Lab (AWP) works closely with wheat breeders from across the public and private sector to evaluate wheat response to diseases.
